Hey everyone! I thought I would just make a quick post to let you all know a little about myself and this blog. I have been doing my nails for almost a year now. I did my nails a lot with my mom as a kid, even got my first stamping kit back when konad first introduced the idea from a kiosk at the mall, but stopped entirely for many years. I was going through Instagram one day when I came across user @amkuch15. I saw her collection of nail polishes and got so jealous. Then I saw her galaxy nails and just had to try them. I quickly got on amazon and ordered myself the needed supplies. They would take awhile to get here though, so I decided to try splatter nails. This was only the beginning of my addiction. I have since done glitter gradients, stripes, dots, pokéballs, rainbows, and so much more. Eventually I'll try to get around to posting some of them but my documentation of past stuff will be a bit sketch.
My current polish collection is now upwards of 100; although I am unsure of an exact number since it has been many moons since my last counting :P (I used that phrase earlier and just couldn't resist using it here. It just makes me feel like I've traveled back in time). Some of you might see that as a lot of polishes, where as others will think I'm just getting started. Wherever you are on the scale I hope you enjoy my work! I have many main stream polishes like Zoya, China Glaze, and such, but have also started to delve into the world of indies as well. So far I am obsessed with Emily de Molly. I think I have around 10 of her polishes, including the highly coveted Cosmic Forces.
I don't know how to classify my work. Dotting tools are my best friend and I'm getting better at brush work. I still need to delve into the world of stripping tape, although I've had some since the beginning. My stuff is not those extreme detail works you see where someone has recreated Ariel's face in perfect detail on their nails. I like cute things. Or things that perhaps look complex but once you understand the tools used can actually be quite simple. I like my work to be something that hopefully anyone can pick up and do. YouTube user Cutepolish was another big inspiration to me when I first started out.
Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank everyone who has encouraged my work! To my Mom who keeps taking me to ulta to pick out new things and is always the first one to compliment and encourage everything I do. To my best friend, JJ, who is probably tired of looking at my nails, but still manages to take an interest in every mani I do. To reddit for getting me even more thoroughly addicted and Instagram for starting the addiction. Again to @amkuch15 that started all this for me. Seriously you should check her out! To everyone who said I seriously need to start a blog. Well guess what?! I did it! Haha. Finally to everyone who has been so nice to me and has oohed and awed over my nails, I thank each and every one of you! :)
This ended up being a smidge longer than I meant it to be but I guess I just got excited for my first blog post. Again I hope you like my stuff and even if you don't, I wish you the best luck and much fun on your nail journey! :]
